Olleros - Chavin

Day One Sacracancha-4,080 meters

Usually we leave after breakfast at about 8 AM in a bus. It takes about one and a half hours to arrive at Olleros, to the south of Huaraz. Continuing we arrive at Canrey Chico where the mule drivers await us. We begin the walk which will take us about three-four hours until the campsite called Sacracancha, at 4,080 meters.

Day Two Shongopampa-4088 meters.

We begin our second day of trekking at 8 AM up a hill which will take about 4 hours. On the way we observe wildflowers with an impressive pasture. We pass by Tscracancha. We continue ascending and arrive at the Yanashalla Pass, 4,700 meters. After taking photos we descend some switchbacks for 2 hours until arriving at the campsite called Shogopampa.

Day Three Chavin-3,150 meters

After breakfast we begin the walk downhill through the Huchacsa Gorge, which will take about three hours. Then we arrive at Chavin, 3,150 meters, where we will visit the Chavin Archeological Monument and then return to the city of Huaraz. On the way we will stop at Lake Querococha to take some photos. Finally we arrive at Huaraz.
