SPECTACULAR VIEWPOINT FOR THE WHITE CORDILLERA BLANCA.

It is a lake that is located in the Cordillera Negra in the district and province of Huaraz in the Ancash region, Peru, it is also considered one of the best natural viewpoints in the Callejón de Huaylas to be able to observe the entire mountain chain of the Cordillera Blanca.

To get to the Willcacocha lake, it will be necessary to depart with a van from the bus stop of line 10 which is in the Jr. Hualcán at the heights of the Central Market, heading to Olleros (to the south) until reaching the Santa Cruz bridge in (Chiwipampa), The starting point of the walk is the bridge that crosses the Santa River, we start uphill halfway through a town called SANTA CRUZ, continuing the walk as we climb we are observing the beautiful landscape, average time to arrive to this lake is 2 hours. It is an exact point to be able to appreciate the mountain chain of the Cordillera Blanca, it will take a time of 1 hour to be in this viewpoint then we descend the same path that will take 1 hour to Santa Cruz Bridge, and then we will take the bus back to Huaraz .
This is an easy hike, for hikers of all fitness levels, including those with little or no previous hiking experience.
